One of the biggest myths of the health world is that Fat is bad!
Yes, Hydrogenated fats, Trans fats and commercial oils such as Canola and many Vegetable Oils are indeed damaging to health. However, the good quality fats are not only beneficial to our health but also required for many critical bodily functions and can prevent weight gain if consumed right! Some examples of these are: Walnuts, Cashews, Almonds, Salmon, Avocado, Coconut, Olives, Eggs etc.Refined sugar (white or brown) and Refined foods (i.e. white bread, white pasta, commercial cookies, cakes etc.) are not good for anything, period! They are the reason that Obesity, Type-2 Diabetes, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Metabolic Syndrome are on the rise, rather on the fast track!
So, Tip#1- Drop the sugar and Increase the fat! Here is what that would look like:*The premise is that good quality fats have a high natural fat content, so they can only be consumed in small amounts as you will feel full very soon. This will result in considerably less food (and sugar) consumption. It will also result in feeling full longer and balance blood sugar which can otherwise be the reason for Cravings and overeating! For the sweet tooth, healthy sugar replacements include: Dates, Bananas, Apple Sauce, Maple syrup and Raw Honey as an occasional treat! Try these for a week and share your experience with me at [email protected] or at https://www.facebook.com/WellnessRedone/ Be sure to look out for Tip 2 next week!
